Baby boy due tomorrow - brother for Noah. After 9 months of wrangling (which I suspect aren't over), we have a shortlist of sorts : Sol, Elliot, Tibor, Eli.

Thoughts?! Is Eli common in the UK? (I'm British but moved away in 97). Does everyone know how to pronounce it or would it cause problems?

If I ever had a DS he would have been Elliot

Oh and by the way, good luck

My son is called sol and in Hebrew it means 'little man of peace'....didn't entirely work lol! But people generally love the name and say how great it is to have something unusual xxx

Wbdn28 · 24/07/2013 15:15

I vote Elliot.

Also like Eli, but the pronounciation difference in Austria could become annoying for you.

PoppyAmex · 24/07/2013 15:18

"Sol" means "Sun" in Spanish and Portuguese, which is nice.

It does sound more of a nickname though.

As this thread is from 2009, I'm guessing the OP made a decision!

I like Eli as nn for Elias or Elijah.
Otherwise prefer Elliot.
