Elliot, if it was a boy? Would the same letter for the first name bother you?

no, same letter wouldn't bother me,. prob wouldn't even have occurred to me tbh!

nickytwotimes · 19/02/2009 19:27

I wouldn't, btu then I have an irrational 'thing' about people having the same initials within the family.

nickytwotimes · 19/02/2009 19:28

Excuse my typing!
ANd my lack of clarity. No, I wouldn't call the child Elliot, nice though it is.

Lilyloo · 19/02/2009 19:30

Yes if i liked it i would
wouldnt even think about same initial thing

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 19/02/2009 19:41

Its the only boys name we can agree on!

Yes, if I like it, I would

bigfatbump2009 · 19/02/2009 20:09

I don't think you should let the same initial thing stop you if you love the name (at least not for different sex siblings)

nigglewiggle · 19/02/2009 20:19

Having the same initial as my mum gave her an excuse to open all of my letters - nosey wench .

So, I'm emotionally scarred by the same initial thing and avoided it for my DD's. Up to you though!

I wouldn't. Don;t like siblings' names beginning with the same letter.

rosiejoy · 19/02/2009 20:29

my kids names start with the same letter- i didnt even realise til the youngest was a month old! although that possibly makes it worse

bekkaboo · 19/02/2009 20:39

Was sure you were going say "Ava"

conkertree · 19/02/2009 20:40

i wouldnt if i had lots of choices of names that I liked, but if there really is only one you can agree on, I wouldnt let the intials be a deal breaker.

JudgyMcJudgy · 19/02/2009 20:41

I'd do it.
But then 2 of mine start with the same letter

When we were having no2 we agreed if it was a girl we'd name her after my Nanna

No 2 was a boy and the name we gave him begins with the same as my Nanna's, but as we didn't plan on having anymore I wasn't bothered.

Surprise baby DD was born 20 months later, my Nanna was very ill by that time and it made me want DD to share her name even more, so even though I had doubts about them having the same letter we went ahead with the name

If you both like it then go for it!

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 19/02/2009 20:46

nice name

I thought you were going to say 'Wally'

nappyaddict · 19/02/2009 22:16

I thought it was going to Adam!

nappyaddict · 19/02/2009 22:17

I think with vowels it is less obvious if the names start with the same letter. However I did the other day when I heard a mum calling Tilly and Tyler.

lunamoon2 · 19/02/2009 23:37

Good choice.
x

ps just realised they don't actually start with the same sound
Eva is an ee sound
Elliot is an e sound (short vowel)so completely fine!!
