I love a new baby name website! For anyone who hasn't seen baby name map give it a whirl.

Ooh I like that Lulu. DD's name is very popular in Sweden apparently. I had no idea.

It's really made me feel happy about our potential name for next DC. Appears in a lot of countries but fairly rare everywhere, so should translate well but not be one of hundreds with the same name.

Now all next DC has to do is be a girl.... cos we still aren't getting anywhere with boys names!

Is there a similar site for English regions/counties?

MaryAnnSweetheart · 12/02/2009 16:58

ChocolateEclair - not that I know of, although I think the baby name map is reasonably new so I guess they will keep refining it.

Would be interesting wouldn't it.

Yes lulubai - I think it would vary hugely from region to region. For example some of the boys names in the top 20 don't seem to be quite so popular near us (Yorkshire)so I wondered if maybe they were extremely popular in the South. I have tried googling but nothing seems to come up for UK regions - only England/Wales/Scotland.

I find it varies enormously just within London.

If I ever meet a child called Jude I reckon he is likely to be under the age of 7 and be from North London. Flora and Esme mostly come from SW London.
