My gran's name... but is it an 'old lady' name? What does the name make you think of?
TIA

(dc2 not due till summer but humour me)

It makes me think of my wonderful Aunt Rona who had a fantastically glam lifestyle and was my dad's favourite auntie. Thank you for a nice memory!

MrsMattie · 09/02/2009 16:01

I'm sorry, but it's beyond awful.

JimmyMcNulty · 09/02/2009 16:02

that's all right MrsMattie; give it to me straight

Wonderstuff · 09/02/2009 16:10

I really like it. Unusual but not weird, makes me think of Rhona Cameron..

nailpolish · 09/02/2009 16:13

sorry

i have a cousin called rhona and she is a potsmoking yellow-stripy haired little cow

Miaou · 09/02/2009 16:20

I like it, but then I have a lovely friend called Rhona so it has nice connotations

Mummyfor3 · 09/02/2009 16:24

strangely, I do not like Rhona, but really fance the sound/look of Rona ...

JimmyMcNulty · 09/02/2009 16:27

Is it a Scottish name? dh and I are both English but chose a Scottish name for ds.

nailpolish · 09/02/2009 16:27

JimmyMcNulty · 09/02/2009 19:19

Any more? I can't help really liking it, but maybe I'm biased because my gran is so lovely. Have a feeling dh won't be keen though.

def an old lady name

i am not a fan ! lol

Weegiemum · 10/02/2009 00:54

I love it - almost called dd2 Rhona.

Depends if you are in Scotland I expect - fairly common here I think, less so elsewhere.

PottyCock · 10/02/2009 07:26

I really like it - also have a cousin called Rhona and she is anything but a jakey!!

Happymum2be · 11/02/2009 10:20

Its my name but I use my middle name instead. I hate the name, its on my passport, medical notes etc and I cringe everytime I hear it. Just my opinion but I think its an ugly name, its Irish in my case. Am constantly told I don't suit it. I would wait to see when your baby is born, choose a couple and see which suits best.

schneebly · 11/02/2009 10:23

pretty popular where I come from in Scotland and not 'jakey' at all.
