What do you think of these?
Any other ideas for girly flower/ nature type names.
Daisy, Rose are lovely but perhaps a little too poplular just now.
Thx

I also love Topaz (but seem to be alone on that one!) although I do know a very cute little Topaz who is about 3 I think.

My DD is Yasmin. My Nan is Violet which I like too.

Meadow

Iris is nice but I tend to think of the eye more than the flower.

Ivy is nice too, until she upsets someone in school or work and inevitably, will be labelled Poison Ivy.

islandofsodor · 15/01/2009 14:55

There is an Ivy in ds's class at school and the daughter of te owners of our local Chinese take-away.

I think its a lovely name (mind she is a gorgeous little thing anyway)

Momino · 15/01/2009 15:08

i really like Zinnia as it's uncommon but it's a close friend's name so won't use it for babycomingsoon.

Ivykaty44 · 15/01/2009 15:10

never had the poison Ivy , although it gets sortened to "I"

Wonderful name

cuddlemum · 15/01/2009 17:02

I love that Iris was the Greek goddess of the rainbow. Our DD also has a name of one of the ancient Greek goddesses!

Holly, Poppy, Daisy

Not Iris - yuk.

MrsWeasley · 15/01/2009 19:45

Rose

SparkyFartDust · 15/01/2009 19:49

Iris is beautiful. It is gentle but has strength- a good name for a girl/ woman of all ages.

delightedoldbag34 · 15/01/2009 19:57

What about Venetia?

or Liliana

or Posy?

Rosie is still one of my fave names, Rose when she's older. It has a classic charm that will never date (IMO)

cuddlemum · 15/01/2009 21:48

Thanks for all your ideas. Posey is v sweet but perhaps better suited to a little girl than a woman.

I really like Ivy, not too popular. I suggested it but dp wasnt keen. Also quite like Iris.

KateF · 17/01/2009 15:07

I know a small Hazel, a couple of Heathers and a Rowan - all nice I think

Nantucket · 17/01/2009 15:11

Iris and Ivy are both lovely.

I think Ivy is lovely to say, IYKWIM.

How about Florence? I know it's not a flower name but it has floral connatations.

naturalbornmum · 17/01/2009 18:50

Hazel and Florence are nice. I don't like Ivy it always makes me think posion Ivy.

nooka · 17/01/2009 18:54

i don't think that Ivy or Iris are very girly. I'm not sure I like Ivy very much, but Iris is to me more classic than pretty.

Cies · 17/01/2009 18:56

I like Iris a lot.

dinny · 17/01/2009 19:00

I know a Marigold - she is lovely!

dd's middle name is Willow and I may have Violet as a middle name for this baby as it's a family name

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/01/2009 19:09

Hebe was on my list

cuddlemum · 17/01/2009 21:33

I rather like Marigold but my DD's name begins with 'M' so probably not a good idea to have two DDs with the same initial.
What do you think of Laurel?
