I always thought it was Eye-lish or Ay-lish but dd2 has a new friend and they pronounce it Ay-lee.

I was just being nosey, was not going to suggest that they have got their child's name wrong

I used to babysit an Eilidh it's Gaelic and a lovely name, can't say the same about the child . There were a lot of them in Milngavie when I worked there.
