You pronounce it Aaa-lee as in Ceilidh (the scottish dancing) but without the "C"

Hope that helps

girlandboy · 15/01/2009 10:06

Yep, eye-lish

SaltireOShanter · 15/01/2009 10:07

It's not Eye-lish. It's pronounced Ay(as in say) Lee

fryalot · 15/01/2009 10:07

aaah, purplepillow, that's interesting.

I always thought it was Eye-lish or Ay-lish but dd2 has a new friend and they pronounce it Ay-lee.

I was just being nosey, was not going to suggest that they have got their child's name wrong

Like Hayley but without the H so Ayley

I used to babysit an Eilidh it's Gaelic and a lovely name, can't say the same about the child . There were a lot of them in Milngavie when I worked there.

Oh and another shortbread lover here too, DP is groundskeeper in Walkers factory so we get LOADS free!
