Is it a step to far?

I think it is a lovely name, but is unfortunately too like the english word "utterly"

Especially if your surname is an adjective, eg Brown, Green.

I know a boy Indigo
Ottilie is perfect ..go with it ..an unusual name that is truly pretty

she'll be Otts or Otter at school.. I can't curb my enthusiasm
excellent choice

DD was vee-ery nearly Ottilie. But I started thinking about otters, and couldn't stop.

I love Lottie as a diminutive, too.
Ottie also sweet.
Ach, go with it, it's lovely. In truth, dd isn't an Ottilie by name or nature.

I love Ottilie now I know how to spell it but have to admit that when my cousin said she was considering it, I heard it as Otterly and thought it was ridiculous
