What are the 'alternative' full names for Ed?

Apart from Edwin and Edmund? Edward is a possibility but we don't love it. I really like Theodore but DH can't say 'th' he says 'ff' so thats a no go. Do you reckon you could just name him Ed, or does he need a formal name.

Edmund?

(Horrid, imo, but you did ask...)

Edmund horrid too IMO, it was just one of the only ones I could think of.

Everyone will call him what you want them to. My DSs both use an abbreviation of their full name - I just told the school (application forms usually ask you to underline the name they're called by, so you just add the abbreviation in brackets and underline that etc) and the doctors' surgery, and they're never called anything but their abbreviation. If anyone does call them by their 'official' name they just say "I prefer to be called X". (Well, not X, obviously...)

Thanks singersgirl. So what middle names go with Ed? We have a long daft surname beginning with W.

We have same problem with complicated surname.

We are going with Edgar shortening to Ed.
