I need a baby girls name to go with my other dd's names - help

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions of a girls name that goes well with, Emily, Katie and Evie? These are the dd's I already have and am really stuck what to call the new baby.

I love your DD's names! 1 is my DD's name and the other 2 were on my short list!

I like Matilda and Florence best of the other names suggested on here although Rebecca and Anna are lovely too. Matilda is nice as can be shortened to Tilly or Matty which would keep in with the ie/y sound of your other girls' names.

Personally I wouldn't choose Phoebe because although I love the name, it rhymes with Evie...

people will get all confused and wonder where the other 2 kids are

and you'd have to keep saying "no you see ,she's the 8th member of the family..not the 8th child" until you'd want to stab the next person who asked ..so you end up calling her olivia

I came across this website on another thread which looks pretty good.

It suggests baby names which go with names you already have.

I put DD's name in and it suggested DS's name!

Why do they have to go together? At most they'll spend 18 years as a 'unit' - and the eldest will have gone long before that. Just give them names you like and that will be bearable for them once they are adults. A name is for life, not just childhood!

(Sorry if that sounds , not intended, but I see a lot of threads where people want names for babies or that will be 'lovely' for children - but they will be adults a lot longer (DV). I am especially about the fashion for 'old lady' names for little girls - v cute now, but in 60 years' time you've got a bunch of old ladies with old lady names. Then again, maybe that will be much more dignified than a bunch of 70yr olds with 'quirky' names (and I speak as one who has an archetypally 60s name which is going to look really dumb when I am 90...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I love Lucy and Mia, can't use Lucy as sil just has though. I'm going to go through the other suggestions now and make a list. Dh has said he still wants Rachel (which is growing on me) or Bryony, which I'm really not sure about.
