And is alliteration a good thing?

See I like really girly names like Libby but I just can't think of a really girly name beginning with a G.

How about Gigi .. short for Georgia?

skidoodle · 13/12/2008 13:35

I like Gretchen.

Guinevere? (poncy, but ace IMO)

Gertrude (DH's suggestion - bit too old fashioned?)

NoGoodAtCleaning · 13/12/2008 13:36

Gigi as in Geegee like a horse? or like GeyGey IYSWIM?

Gretchen's nice but a little too close to Gretta.

apuppydaviesisforlife · 13/12/2008 13:38

ghislaine (pr. gill-en, hard g)

skidoodle · 13/12/2008 13:39

Now come on pointydog, the John Cale song would not be half as good if it were "You're having tea with Justin Greene"

Really girly you say?

Gita/Giita? Is that girly?

bodiddly · 13/12/2008 13:39

anyone know what i mean and can write it as it is said? gigi that is

skidoodle · 13/12/2008 13:40

Oooh ghislaine is gorgeous (if you dare, you maybe not be up for a hard to spell/pronounce name)

skidoodle · 13/12/2008 13:40

zhizhi?

poinsettydog · 13/12/2008 13:43

why does the goddam name have to begin with 'g'? Has anyone asked?

Choose another first letter.

NoGoodAtCleaning · 13/12/2008 13:43

Ooooh Zhizhi or Zsizsi. I get what you mean now.

bodiddly · 13/12/2008 13:44

guess it is a soft g .. kind of french pronunciation. Anyway ... after all that you probably aren't a fan. I love it! good classic film though!

Quattrocento · 13/12/2008 13:45

No

dontwanttobejumpedon · 13/12/2008 13:48

Gaia. Grace. I like alliterative names.

skidoodle · 13/12/2008 13:51

When we were trying to pick baby names I worked my way through a few letters like this.

It helped to narrow the field rather than having to think about ALL the possible names, which just seemed too daunting.

Silly but helpful IME

LittleDonkeyCarrieMary · 13/12/2008 14:04

I have a gorgeous Gracie

tinselroundtherock · 13/12/2008 14:20

Gaynor
Greta

tootyflooty · 13/12/2008 14:22

My neice is Gabriella, and she is often called Gabby, but that in itself is quite pretty. Or if you used Gabrielle, it would more likely be shortened to Ellie. I have a Thomas, and I have never called him Tom, although his friends do.

malovitt · 13/12/2008 14:23

Gertrude - or was that the magic roundabout cow?

Gervaise

LynetteScavo · 13/12/2008 14:35

Only three.

Genivieve.

Gwen.

Grace.

dinkymum · 13/12/2008 15:16

Georgia
Gemma

Lulubee · 13/12/2008 19:09

I always liked Grainne written down and was very disappointed when I found out how it was pronounced! It's too similar to 'Groin'!
