Tweenies

bertiebear · 09/12/2008 12:59

No

FruitynNutty · 09/12/2008 13:00

Yes I agree, tis very Tweenies. My DP wants to call our new baby Jake. I won't because all I can think of is the blardy Tweenies!

maretta · 09/12/2008 13:00

The tweenies will have had their day by the time it matters and Milo is the best tweenie by far.
I like it.

FCH · 09/12/2008 13:00

I love this too and was keen to use it but DH, who grew up in Zimbabwe, says it is the name of a chocolate drink over there and therefore equivalent to naming a child Ovaltine. I gave in but am rehashing for #2 in case of another boy...

crumpet · 09/12/2008 13:01

prefer miles, with Milo as a nickname

HolidaysQueen · 09/12/2008 13:07

Milo was our second favourite name until DH suddenly decided it was his favourite name about 3 weeks before DS was born. At the time I thought it sounded a little bit pretentious and Notting Hill for me, but mainly I really really loved our first choice and was desperately trying to think of reasons not to go with Milo. Anyway, after a 43 hour labour I got my way and DS became Leo.

We would definitely still consider Milo for a second DS, although the fact that it is a Tweenie and a malted drink that I've had in India might make me a little nervous. And I do still think it is a little bit posh/trendy somehow

StephanieByng · 09/12/2008 13:31

I like it - but actually love your choice HolidaysQueen - Leo is a gorgeous name!

MrsMattie · 09/12/2008 13:33

dog's name

ladyjuliafish · 09/12/2008 13:34

Its a drink here too. My dcs have it every day. I love the name though. Are the Tweenies still around?

CountessDracula · 09/12/2008 13:35

isn't it like horlicks?

princessmel · 09/12/2008 13:35

Tweenies here too and dh's reaction was 'its a dog'

CountessDracula · 09/12/2008 13:35

I think Miles is much better
Milo a bit TTH

tessofthedurbervilles · 09/12/2008 13:36

Thanks, I am really struggling on boys names, baby will have a half bro called Leo as really liked Theo but sounds too twee.....
This is my 1st and I didn't even know the tweenies existed! x

i prefer Miles but have a bit of a fondness for Milo

annasmami · 09/12/2008 13:37

I like it - classic, masculine and strong sounding. It would work well in German and French (and Spanish?) too.

keevamum · 09/12/2008 13:42

Love it. It's alwys been our first choice for a boy but we've had 2 girls, still hope to use it one day!!

StephanieByng · 09/12/2008 13:56

If you love the name I would use it. Most people have a wider frame of reference and know it as a name as WELL as the Tweenies! Don't let it put you off. It's very nice.

migolapland · 09/12/2008 16:14

Sorry I think of tweenies. It is a nice name in itself but it's a bit trendy/posh. You will have to buy a bugaboo if you name him Milo

Lilymaid · 09/12/2008 16:20

Definitely a milk drink and still available in the UK in a few places. What about Horlicks?

CruCru · 03/02/2013 15:11

I met a little boy called Milo today in the Science Museum and thought how nice his name was. Argh! I hadn't thought of the bloody Tweenies. I am sad.

MidnightMasquerader · 03/02/2013 16:56

I'm a Kiwi and the chocolate drink association is too strong for me. Every home has Milo in its pantry. :)

Pitting that aside to be objective, I think it's a nice name for a boy; less sure of it for a man. However as the name would grow with its owner, I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem.

sw11mumofone · 03/02/2013 18:11

I've never watched the Tweenies so wouldnt have associated it with that. Its a nice enough name. What would put me off is they are everywhere where I live. I personally know four under the age of three. But if popularity doesn't bother you then you should go for a name you love.

smokinaces · 03/02/2013 18:17

I know two milos, one five and one three. I admit to raising an eyebrow at first, because of the tweenies thing, but now I really like the name and think it really suits them.

And neither ds has ever linked the tweenies with their friends names.

Coldcuppacoffee · 03/02/2013 18:22

Boris Johnson has a Milo... And a Lettuce. Does that change anything?
