Whats everyones thought on the boys name Aston? Whats the first thought that comes in to your head when you hear/read it?

I really love it and it seems like it just has to be my boys name...thats if it is even a boy!

Dh not keen but doesn't hate it though so thats always a good start

Also quite like Austin.

Martin.

I think it's weird. Not horrid but weird.I wouldn't use it.

A friend of a friend has just called her ds Aston. I like it

One of JLS on X Factor is called it too.

SantasNuttySTaff · 06/12/2008 11:01

Aston Martin, nice car.

like calling a girl Porsche or mercedes really

Austin is probably a better way to go imo. but your baby your choice if you like it then use it.

MrsMattie · 06/12/2008 11:02

My first love (aged about 10 yrs old ) was called Aston.

It's a bit 'surname as first name' in my opinion, though.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 06/12/2008 11:05

"One of JLS on X Factor is called it too." Is that a good recommendation though??

SeamusTheElf · 06/12/2008 11:08

Austin Maestro nooo

rather Aston Martin

moondog · 06/12/2008 11:08

naff

plinkplinkfizzpops · 06/12/2008 11:08

Sounds like a bit of a non-name to me, more like a sound or a word for a thing (possibly a car-like thing!).

Having said that it is not an unpleasant sound but doesn't conjure a picture of a boy called Aston.

ILikeToHoHoHo · 06/12/2008 11:10

I think of it as an American name.

ILikeToHoHoHo · 06/12/2008 11:11

Oh, and I like Austin, but I always think of Austin Powers when I hear the name. Do I make you you horny baby?

deckthegirlandboywithholly · 06/12/2008 11:12

Aston.....what as in "Aston Villa"?!?!?!?!?

babymt · 06/12/2008 11:13

LOL I thought everyone was gonna say car but didn't wanna put ideas in your heads by mentioning it first. Oddly Austin makes me think of cars too rather than Austin Powers.

Surely its not really as bad as using Porsche or Mercedes is it?!?!!?

babymt · 06/12/2008 11:14

rempy · 06/12/2008 13:08

BabyTalk13 · 06/12/2008 13:31

I dont like Austin at all, prefer Aston think its a nice name.
Reminds me of Aston Merrygold from JLS Xfactor (and fun song factory)

southeastastra · 06/12/2008 13:31

it's quite nice but i imagine would be shortened to 'ass'

BabyTalk13 · 06/12/2008 14:10

haha 'ass' thats not good but quite funny!!
Id think it would prob be shortened to Ash tho which isnt bad as many people named this

EachPeachPearMum · 06/12/2008 20:04

Um, Aston is a not particularly salubrious area of Bham. we wouldn't use it.

TheProvincialLady · 06/12/2008 20:08

Yes have you ever been to Aston?

festivedollyx · 06/12/2008 23:46
