Elizabeth

TheOtherMaryPoppinsFleckles · 26/11/2008 19:29

Elizabeth but you could have it as a stand alone name if you liked, I think it's very retro and kitsch

Bettina?

VerifiedLU4097 · 27/11/2008 16:42

ooh, now I think about it, when I was a girl, the heroine in one of my favourite books was called Sarabeth. Perhaps you could use that and shorten to Betsy?

frazzledoldbag34 · 27/11/2008 22:42

It's another name for your Fou-Fou surely? (sorry to lower the tone)

Although I do know of a little girl called Betsey.

frazzledoldbag34 · 27/11/2008 22:43

Sorry, spelt it wrong (tired, pregnancy brain at fault)

Her name is Betsy (not short for anything as far as I am aware anyway).

PandaG · 27/11/2008 22:47

Bethan, Bethany, Isabella (all derivatives of Elizabeth)

dizzydixies · 27/11/2008 22:50

Elspeth maybe?

Hi just caught this thread and just wanted to pedantically add that I had always understood the name Betsy to be short for Elizabeth Ann, not just Elizabeth. As others have said nothing to stop you from using it on its own. Think it is a lovely name! Though I've always loved Elspeth as well - Scottish version of Elizabeth I think.

belgo · 30/11/2008 14:10

I think it's fine as a name in it's own right.

BikeRunSki · 30/11/2008 15:48

Surely all the names that Betsy can be short for are derivatives of Elizabeth anyway?

piscesmoon · 30/11/2008 15:56

I love the name Elizabeth.
