Title says it all, and are there many about

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I love, love, love it. I wanted it for DC4 (who turned out to be a girl). But then I realised it means 'end' in Spanish. We live in Spain. I was gutted.

Everyone on here is bound to say that they know hundreds as this name has been discussed many times before.

I love it but then I am biased. There was a very funny sketch recently on Harry Enfield when the posh consultant met the Queen and told her that his grandson had been named Finn.

Blondie79 · 17/11/2008 18:15

That is my DSs name and I love it! It has a few meanings - "sunbeam" and "fair haired warrior". He is both!!

filz · 17/11/2008 18:15

its the male version of my name and I am a lovely, well rounded induvidual
ds2 is the scottish version

2point4kids · 17/11/2008 18:18

I like it. Love the longer name Finbar with Finn as a nick name

mickeylou · 17/11/2008 18:43

great name - it was my choice for ds but someone put me off towards end of pregnancy. dh is tall and skinny. (sorry dh) and when i said was having finn for a boy they replied "well if he's any thing like his dad he will be thin" "thin finn" aaagh - teach me to tell someone in RL. I will learn next time and will only discuss names on MN.

Nancy66 · 17/11/2008 21:37

I love it. It's on my (very short) boy's list

RachieB · 17/11/2008 22:15

I love it

pickupthismess · 17/11/2008 22:29

I adored it but my mum said it sounded like a chav. I totally disagree but then couldn't use it for fear of upsetting mum.

However, I've told myself if I have a third I am going to use it whether she likes it or not.

ramonaquimby · 17/11/2008 22:48

love it
was going to use if I ever had a son

ended up with 3 daughters instead!

nellynaemates · 18/11/2008 09:05

I think it's lovely although prefer the name "Finlay/Findlay" shortened to Finn/Fin as opposed to giving Fin as the name on the birth certificate.

ScottishMummy · 18/11/2008 09:09

what about finlay but use finn as pet name derivative

judgenutmeg · 18/11/2008 09:37

I like it but it is very common here along with Evie and Freya for girls. When I was in my twenties all the boys seemed to be called Daniel and the girls, Jessica. There's nothing wrong with having a common name if it's one that you love.

Signed,

Proud mum of two boys with very commonly heard names.

Lovesdogsandcats · 18/11/2008 09:54

no, he will have the theme tune from 'JAWS' sung to him every time he walks past someone at school.

ilovespinach · 18/11/2008 10:00

like it a lot...prefer Finlay as the given name and then Finn as a nickname
