For a girl, what do you think?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think we are having it but of we have a boy [sorry] I do love the name .

scorpio1 · 03/11/2008 19:14

not for me personally - a bit of a nothing name imo

missblythe · 03/11/2008 19:30

Think of it as a boy name - Kirsty Allsop's son's name, in fact.

Is pretty though.

Rindercella · 03/11/2008 20:38

sorry, but I'm not keen. Either think of bay tree or a bay horse. Not a name imo.

Nancy66 · 03/11/2008 21:21

Male or female it's a bit naff - sorry

MrsMattie · 03/11/2008 21:22

Not keen for a girl or boy.

Flightattendant4 · 03/11/2008 21:26

I'm sorry - in theory, yes, beautiful, but in the current zeitgeist it would have to be a middle name, first name beginning E.

Sorry

frazzledoldbag34 · 03/11/2008 21:30

I like it. It's on my list for a boy this time.
Might do for a girl..........hmmm mulling it over............

Liffey · 03/11/2008 22:12

I know a (really nice) woman with a little girl called Bay.

The family is very into water sports and apparently it means Bay like a natural harbour, an inlet, is that the word??

Not like a Horse which is what came first to my mind.

I like it.. Simple, unusual, pretty.

atowncalledalice · 03/11/2008 22:20

Sorry, but it reminds me of baying dogs.

Merrylegs · 03/11/2008 22:33

'Tis fine, as long as your surname isn't Leaf...

Cinderellarach · 15/07/2010 10:43

I wonder since this was posted whether anyone actually called their child Bay?

Try spelling it differently, Bey, Baye or Bai, perhaps - get people away from thinking about herbs, otherwise go the whole hog and name the babe garni (as in 'bouquet' - ha ha!)

Mollydoggerson · 15/07/2010 11:10

Bay- Leaf.

I'm sorry I don't like it.

5DollarShake · 15/07/2010 11:22

The thread is from Nov 08 - I think the feedback is now falling on deaf ears...

thelastlifeline · 15/07/2010 21:43

5dollarshake - well spotted! It has made me think differently about herbs as baby names tho!
