I am not sure many people will get the Oedipus connections.

I would be more worried that every Jocasta I have ever met is UBER posh and sloany. Not in a nice balanced way but in a horrid snobby way.

Sorry but am trying very hard to find something nice to say about Jocasta...........
I guess it depends on your background etc but to me it sounds a little, tiny bit pretentious.
But then, some people like that - (I've got a thread about Portia at the moment, and am sure people would say similar things!)
It is a bit of a mouthful though.

FWIW, our DCs will be state educated. DH and I are both ex-public school, but not at all snobby. Or wealthy . The name would go very well with our surname imo (pleasant alliteration). Provisional middle name would be Lillith.

My daughter was at STATE SCHOOL with a girl named Jocasta, tiny but with a huge personality I think being called Jocasta has only ever been an asset to her!
