I love this.

I've never heard it used as a name though.

Is it because nobody else like it?

I think any name that starts with 'pee' is probably asking for it.

BananaFruitBat · 26/10/2008 20:48

Oooooh, good one.

I love it.

(unless that should be )

hf128219 · 26/10/2008 20:48

Quite a lot of them have been registered in UK!

Liffey · 26/10/2008 20:50

I don't dislike it. It's interesting and it's one that could grow on me.

I contemplated Posey and Pansy when I was pg. I still love Pansy. I also liked Dahlia and begged to call dd that. And that was before I had gas and air.

LuLuBai · 27/10/2008 11:45

I've pondered this one myself. I do think it's rather pretty, I like the way it looks written down and it has quite a fresh innocent feel. But I still can't quite imagine it on a child. On the floral front I also quite like Amaryllis but I think it's probably a bit too much.

I've even caught myself scrolling through the RHS plant finder for floral inspiration (pregnancy eh!) but nothing has quite stuck.

MrsMattie · 27/10/2008 11:45

No. Awful.

LuLuBai · 27/10/2008 11:48

Dahlia would be good for a child born in Sept / Oct when they are in full flower.

I seem to have Spring babies but can't bring myself to call a child Hyacinth, Daffodil or Tulip.

frazzledoldbag34 · 27/10/2008 13:58

Dahlia is lovely.
Peony (and I am very sorry for saying this) just sounds like 'Pee-on-me'. And that isn't great in the playground IMO. Actually anything 'Pee' related with small children is a bad idea. Shame as it looks so pretty written down and actually Peonies are my absolute favorite flowers.

Unless your child is at a very posh school where nobody would think such a thing I would have to recommed a re-think.
Rosie is always lovely?
or Flora?
Fleur?
or Venetia (ok so not flower related but unusual and pretty).

monkeymonkeymonkey · 27/10/2008 14:00

Terrible, IMO.

filz · 27/10/2008 14:01

what about penny?

(its my daughters name)

dinny · 27/10/2008 14:01

Peronel?

Cheesesarnie · 27/10/2008 14:04

i know one shes almost 3 and they call her peepee for short.

crumpet · 27/10/2008 16:32

knew someone who called their dd Burgundy Rose which I now think is rather pretty

mrsbabookaloo · 27/10/2008 16:32

Peony?...=Pee-On-Me!

Peter begins with Pee. You don't hear kids going "PEEter, PEEter, hahaha" do you?

ilovemyflipflops · 27/10/2008 18:56

I considered Peony when i was pregnant with my dd, well that is till i told my partner.. he just gave me a strange look as if i'd lost the plot.. I agree with the Pee pee potential problem, tbh once i thought about the name a bit more, how it could be shortened in the playground, it put me off trying to convince my partner to use it.
