Names that could have Dolly as a short form

I love the name Dolly, but feel it's too cute to be a full name - there would need to be an official/grown-up name. However, I'm not keen on Dolores or Dorothy. Are there any other names for which could reasonably have Dolly as a short form?

Seriously, Delia or Cordelia are nice names. Coco or Didi or LiLi could all be nns for Cordelia. They are cutesy too but they sound more like pandas at the zoo than lolita dont go there names. So that's better.

I think Delilah/Delia, Theadora and Isadora are my favourites at the moment.

I think the best options are Dorothea, Theodora or Dolores, but obviously the last one is to avoid if you a bothered about the meaning. Personally I love Dolly and I have two 30-something friends both called it and it doesn't seem in any way whimsical on them x

I have special knowledge of this topic since my maternal grandmother's given name is Dolly, and my paternal grandmother's given name is Dolores. Both are perfectly dignified names in American English, and they each have a well-established and dignified meaning. Dolly is for Saint Dorothea (It was the original short name for hundreds of years). What is more, the name "Dolores" does not mean the person who bears the name is sorrowful. Rather, it is a reminder of the Mater Dolorosa, which is Mary the Sorrowful at the Crucifixion.

My mothers name is Dolores and she goes by Della. I like it.

Delilalh or Theadora get my vote. Love Dolly as a nick name.

The child is six years old now, so the time for suggestions is long past.

I know it’s not Dolly but it does start with a d and it has 4 letters as well in case your looking for something different. It’s Dina which I think is beautiful (you can also spell it Dinah if u want)
