sunshineonarainyday · 13/10/2008 13:45

Love the name Edward but prefer Ted or Teddy as the nickname

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 13/10/2008 13:45

I'm with Enchanted - Edward: yes, Woody: please no.

EnchantedWithEdwardCullen · 13/10/2008 13:47

Eddie is soooo cute

Woody is a cowboy...

or an erection

Jas · 13/10/2008 13:47

I know 2 children called Woody.

Don't do it.

(Edward is good though)

annasmami · 13/10/2008 13:52

NOOOO to Woody!!!

seeker · 13/10/2008 13:56

Edward - fab.

Ed, Ted, Teddy, Eddie, Ned - but not, please not, Woody!

LouMacca · 13/10/2008 14:50

Edward lovely and the nickname has got to be Ted/Teddy - absolutely adorable

Tortington · 13/10/2008 14:50

woody colloquial for cock no?

ffs

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 13/10/2008 14:53

Well, just so long as you don't actually put Woody on the birth certificate (as a neighbour did for her son)! After all, he can choose his own nickname when he's older.

gladders · 13/10/2008 16:22

I know two boys called Woody - think it's quite sweet myself - and then they have Edward to fall back on if they don't like it when they're older.....

Woody, hmmmm erection??

woody Harrelson, now there's a thought

Jojay · 13/10/2008 21:23

Can't stand Ted or Teddy. Ed / Eddie are nice though.

I never thought so many people would associate Woody with a hard on...........Maybe I'm more naive than I thought!

Edward great name. Like most of its abbreviations. Know of 2 little boys called Woody and think of the woodpecker.

It's slang for an erection and also I know it as a nickname for someone who's a bit thick - you know, wood up top.

seeker · 14/10/2008 07:39

Do you REALLY want to be a middle aged, slightly balding senior Civil Servant called Woody? Call him Edward with Woody as a nickname if you must, but please give him the choice.

There is someone famous (it might be Woody Allen) who is a great fan of Louis Armstrong and so called his daughter Satchel because his nickname was Satchmo, short for Satchel-Mouth!

TheSmallClanger · 14/10/2008 11:29

I like it. Edward is a good classic name, and he can always be Eddie/Ed later if he wants.
I much prefer Woody to "Teddy", which seems to be really popular at the moment. Teddy is a name for a middle-aged man who still lives with his mum, and wears interesting knitwear.

Jojay · 14/10/2008 15:11

I would definitely christen him Edward, not Woody.

Piglett · 14/10/2008 18:59

I quite like Woody
