Should probably add that it should 'work' in French and English. We don't seem to have very many that we both like.....help!

I love Oscar too, but I think it will be thought of as quite excentric where I live.
I find it so much harder to find boys names that work well in french and english, there seemed to be more choice for girls.

Oh, I was going to suggest Killian, but I guess that's not French or English so not going to work.

Emile is nice and Antoine

Samuel and Benjamin are good solid boys' names that would travel anywhere.

I love the name Oscar, it's great.

William and Edward not so much my cup of tea but good strong names.

Ange or Eugene I think no for England purposes.

I have anglo/french relatives.

Noah
Lily

Killian would probably be ok, Im not keen personally, but there are quite a lot of anglo saxon names around, Brandon, Brendan, Brian (bizarrely), Shannon, etc. They're all a bit too American for me, but plenty of them about.

Samuel!

But I am biased.

My Samuel is 12 weeks old!

Does it work in French? DS's french cousins are having trouble with it. My sister and BIL had the same English/French dilemma. Dnephew has an English name. The French version is very similar but pronounced and spelt differently. My sister spends a great deal of time correcting people. The French generally ignore her and default to the French version. It winds her up no end, even after a lot of years.

Emile works in English and French and I really like it. I work with one, who is lovely, so again, I am biased.
