Mungo keeps being brought up when we discuss names. Dh is not sure but I think it's a cool name which works well for both a young boy and an adult.
I'm hoping to convince dh. So what do you think?

As in Mungo Jerry & Chip Hawkes?

I love Mungo! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this thread -have suggested it several times to DH but he seems to think I'm joking...

RachieB · 05/11/2008 15:27

yuck ,dont like it at all

Gracie123 · 05/11/2008 15:45

I can't say I love mungo, but that's probably because I work at a school where every other kid is called 'Minti', 'Portia', 'Archie' or 'Theo'.
I didn't grow up around these sorts of names and just can't quite get used to them.

Anamaria, I'm sorry but people do criticise 'working class' names. Harry Enfield made quite a good living out of 'Wayne' and 'Waynetta'...

Have you seen "Blazing Saddles?"

"Candy-gram for Mungo..."

It's nice though. It's your baby!

No, makes me think of mung beans, which makes me think of Gillian McKeith

Littleladyloulou · 08/11/2008 13:50

Don't do it. Step a-way from the name! I get (and like) the "genre" of that sort of name but that specific, actual name is terrible to lumber a child with.

It will raise more smirks than admiration I fear. It also IMHO implies "trying too hard". Sorry.
