What are your thoughts on having two DS's with the same initial?

is it too confusing... or is it really handy because you save on name tags?!!

I have the same initial (and in fact a similar, female version of the name) as my brother. Don't do it. especially if you have any intention of sending them to the same school down the line. It was a nightmare for us - teachers didn't know which of us was being signed up for stuff or who was required to attend event A or B. Not helped because we're only a year apart.

2 is fine, just don't have 18 children all with names starting with J

I think it's not a great idea, went out with someone once and the whole family's initials were the same. Think it's cheesy, but given there are some siblings here who never had a problem, if you're passionate about the name, go for it. If you have a third child though, don't do it again!

Sometimes it makes it easier to mistake one name for the other, particularly if they have the same rhythm. We had a pair in our family who often got confused (they were very close in age).

But then again, my mum still reels off all our names (and may even include grandchildren until she gets to the right one), and not a duplicate inital in sight!
