No.

fryalot · 13/09/2008 21:59

if you love it, then have it

Personally, I prefer Stockholm, but each to their own

themildmanneredstalker · 13/09/2008 21:59

it is a full moon isn't it??

controlfreakinfreaky · 13/09/2008 21:59

otto? much nicer. most "place" names are horrid.

Twelvelegs · 13/09/2008 22:00

We are going to do it, I just wondered what type of negative response we would get.

yummymummy1405 · 13/09/2008 22:16

I quite like it v unusual and nothing wrong with norway!

KAEKAE · 14/09/2008 01:06

No reminds me of that large man on Keeping Up Appearances. I am not keen on it at all.

FairLadyRantALot · 14/09/2008 10:30

Astra I have a cousin caled Bjoern...scandinavian names are often used in Germany

As for Oslo....erm...no...not a name really is it?

Twelvelegs · 14/09/2008 10:51

But both of my boys have
unusual names, not twee and still masculine, and I couldn't 'do' traditional names as it wouldn't fit.

I hate names like Daniel, Peter, Joshua, Theo, Luke, Jack and all the other tripe that appears on every name list.

If you like place names how about Scunthorpe?

FairLadyRantALot · 14/09/2008 10:57

my boys don't have traditional names, but that doesn't have to mean that you have to use placenames to name your kids, surely....

Twelvelegs · 14/09/2008 11:25

yes, scunthorpe seems more foreign to me than Oslo!!!
Anyway it will be Oslo unless we find a better name. Just feel well warned of the reception.

FairLadyRantALot · 14/09/2008 12:06

lol....

wheresthehamster · 14/09/2008 12:08

Agree, I immediately thought of Onslow from Keeping up Appearances! Don't do it!!!

Quattrocento · 14/09/2008 12:14

Oslo. Oh dear. Well it could be worse.

meandmyjoe · 18/10/2008 18:24

Have to say I quite like it. I wouldn't use it as I do like traditional names and have a Joseph so Twelvelegs will be cringing! If you like it go for it. I also love the name scunthorpe, lol but couldn't use it cos it's were I live

Not cos I can't use it but cos I live there!

jengerard11 · 22/07/2018 05:27

Not sure if you will ever see this, but I love the name Oslo and would like to use it for our son to be. Did you end up using the name? If so, how do you feel about it now?
