Did she realise that she named two of her children after witches? And how is it possible to be Pro Guns, Pro Capital punishment and Pro Life? Isn't that like saying you are Pro Life and Death?

Has she thought anything through? [tutting emoticon]

If the Republicans get in, she will be President (Mrs President?) if anything happens to 72 yo McCain in the next 4 years... Yikes!

Btw, I think Willow and Piper are the best two names out of a decidedly strange bunch

solo · 01/09/2008 13:23

Which ones are witches names? Piper is on Charmed, but what is the other one?

laweaselmys · 01/09/2008 14:04

Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

laweaselmys · 01/09/2008 14:10

I'm a bit disturbed, I was looking up the details about the possible trig-not-being-hers story and there were lots of posts saying if it was true then she is an amazing mum/saint for taking her daughters baby and raising it as her own...

Not sure that this is actually in the best interests of the baby or it's real mum. Talk about confusing revelations later in life!

News report on BBC now saying that her 17yo dd is expecting baby - they have made statement to stop 'scurrilous'(sp) rumours circulating on the internet. Dd will be marrying boyfriend Brings new life to the phrase "shotgun wedding" !!

FourArms · 01/09/2008 18:20

here

FourArms · 01/09/2008 18:22

Here's the pic IndigoMoon was linking to

Peapodlovescuddles · 01/09/2008 18:23

Just came on to post about DD expecting! I eagerly anticipate grandchilds name!

The way that statement was worded was so harsh. I feel really bad for Bristol, okay she's a pregnant teenager, it happens, and now she's being used as a tool to prove how good/strict and god-fearing her mother is. I think it's disgusting.

FourArms · 01/09/2008 18:32

But if the 17yo is pg now, then that photo above might not show her looking plump because she's had a baby, but because she is pg now.

MatNanPlus · 01/09/2008 20:41

Maybe Trig is Willows baby

TheNaughtiestGirlIsaMonitor · 01/09/2008 20:55

Pro life and pro death! I wonder if the democrats have got that retort ready!! Very good!

thumbwitch · 01/09/2008 22:34

If Trig is Bristol's baby, being brought up as Sarah's, it doesn't matter how saintly Sarah is for doing it, what matters politically is that she has lied about it and tried to cover up the facts.

And of course it will matter later to Trig.

And Bristol is pg (again - you would think she might have learnt how not to be after the first one?! ALLEGEDLY) Although did I read that they are strict Catholics? In which case contraception would be a no-no.

MatNanPlus · 01/09/2008 23:34

but he is only 4months so she surely can't be more than 8 weeks gone?

solo · 02/09/2008 00:14

Being Catholic means sexual relations outside of marriage are a no - no never mind no contraception.

thumbwitch · 02/09/2008 00:29

If Bristol's baby is due in December and Trig was born in April, then it's a tad unlikely that Trig is Bristol's!

nooka · 02/09/2008 00:58

They aren't Catholics, but cited as Assemblies of God/independant Cristians (ie the church they regularly attend is not affiliated with a formal church). She is apparently OK with contraception, but anti sex education and pro abstinence (maybe this is why she has a pregnant teenager). She thinks parents should be able to prevent their kids from having abortions, and that those who have suffered rape or incest should be forced to have babies should they get pregnant. Scary stuff

foxytocin · 02/09/2008 01:42

Assemblies of God have a strong fundamentalist christian following. I would run, fast, the other way if she was heading towards me to shake my hand.

MatNanPlus · 02/09/2008 10:27

So while Sarah was going thru her 5th pregnancy and not showing at all unlike with her previous pregnancies her 16yo daughter was off school for upto 8 months and is now pregnant, due to deliver in late december just 8 months after her mum gave birth a month early?

If this was a soap script it would ber thrown out as to far fetched.

thumbwitch · 02/09/2008 10:50

no, no, MNP - how can you say that? What about the Fowlers in Eaastenders? Michelle being pregnant by Drity Den and her mum having Martin around the same time?

Obivously Sarah Palin is an Easties afficionado and has based herself on Pauline!

beanieb · 02/09/2008 13:33

I have just looked up the laws on Statutory Rape for Alaska - Boy are they confusing!

I think it's awful that this couple might be being coerced into marriage to save her mother's political career!

beanieb · 02/09/2008 13:39

Oh - she's 5 months pregnant apparently. Does this woman have other daughters? maybe one of them is the mother of the other child?
