I LOVE IT.

but dh would never let me have it

puffling · 30/08/2008 22:11

Freaky I just read this. mty aunt just sent me loads of family tree reseach and a couple of the 1800s ones were called Dulcie. Another was calld Dulce (nicknamed Dulsie).

TheNaughtiestGirlIsaMonitor · 30/08/2008 22:11

I absolutely love it. Gorgeous, chic, bit posh but not ludicrously pretentious. Feminine but not girly. Quite a strong name. She would be a character.

But I love all those names that my Mother hates I also love Edith, Lois, Margot, Polly, Mabel and Nancy.

AbbeyA · 30/08/2008 22:15

I like it.

spicemonster · 30/08/2008 22:16

loobylu3 · 31/08/2008 10:56

Fabulous.

AnnaCliff · 31/08/2008 11:54

I hate the sound of this name. It sounds very sulky.

cyteen · 31/08/2008 11:56

Not my bag.

suedonim · 31/08/2008 12:12

It's cute and I think will 'age' well.

I saw a middle-aged Willow in the paper recently and although I love that name for a child it really didn't suit the older woman.

raindropsonroses · 31/08/2008 12:32

Twee and sickly sweet.

Problems with teasing because of the only obvious nickname Dull

zippitippitoes · 31/08/2008 12:41

no too agatha christie maidservant

MerryMarigold · 31/08/2008 12:46

I hate it. My great grandmother was Dulcie and even so I wouldn't dream of using it.

It doesn't sound pretty at all even though the meaning is a bit sickly. Just trying to be a bit too 'I'm having a trendy old fashioned name, but not one that many other people have." Nahhhh

wheresthehamster · 31/08/2008 12:53

Agree about dull. Dull Dulcie from Dullsville

devonsmummy · 31/08/2008 13:11

I love it - Dh doesn't
When pregnant with DS we had Darcie chosen for a girl - but this seems to have become rather popular around here.
Dulcie is a good alternative I think

3andnomore · 31/08/2008 13:38
