Now I love the name Ben, lovely soft manly name but wouldn't have Ben as official name SOOOO, would you go for Benedict (which means blessed, ahhh) or Benjamin?

How about Benito? Spanish methinks

PavlovtheCat · 28/08/2008 23:36

She loves her bed! Although she does tend to get out a good 3-4 times, and then fall asleep in front of the door and have to be put back to bed. She especially likes that mummy and daddy can sit (I can lie on it, as I am short) and she can snuggle into us for her bedtime story. She always says 'way down mummy story time' and puts the blanket over both of us. I like that too!!

And, to be honest, I am not sure I like the name benoir anyway just wanted to add another name to the confusion!!! hehehe!

pgwithnumber3 · 28/08/2008 23:42

Ahh bless her heart! I remember DD1 going into her bed for the very first time. She shit herself when she realised she truly had no cot and it was big bed time!

I moved our spare double bed into DD1's room (she is nearly 6) - it is a fabulous antique brass bed, cost us a small fortune but it would have been wasted going into storage as DC3 is going to take the spare room up. Next day I goes into get her up and she had made a load of pictures and glued them to the frame! Who's idea was that then to let her have the bed says DH?

Ben or Benjamin personally, I think Benedict is a bit older and stuffier - it's not bad, I just prefer the other two.

greenday · 29/08/2008 02:26

I have a Benjamin - I love his name. Obviously, my choice is biased.

mellyonion · 29/08/2008 08:45

i love both...

my 95 yo grandpa is benjamin, ben for short....

Lizzylou · 29/08/2008 08:46

I have a Benedict, it's a lovely name and not very common in these parts. We always get "Ooh lovely name" comments whenever we tell people. He is Benny for short.

hedgepig · 29/08/2008 09:23

I have a Benjamin which get used for telling off purposes but he is Ben most of the time.
Although when baby he was Benjamino; and still is sometimes a Ben-bo Baggins (just to his mom and dad). I'm very biased but Ben if a great name.

branflake81 · 29/08/2008 09:47

It's Benoit (with two dots on the i)

I like Benedict, though agree it's quite religious.

Lizzylou · 29/08/2008 10:19

LOL Hedgepig, we say Benedict is DS2's Sunday name and is great for when he's doing something he shouldn't!

weblette · 29/08/2008 10:24

Another Benjamin/Ben here

Tutter · 29/08/2008 11:45

hedgepig

(are you my dh? )

Tutter · 29/08/2008 11:46

(also ben-bino, ben-bo, ben-biliembo, etc etc)

ByTheSea · 29/08/2008 11:48

Benjamin. I love the name.

cheesychips · 30/08/2008 14:51

I have a Ben - just Ben.
DH wanted Benjamin and I was holding out for Benedict until a friend of a friend told us that he was cursed all through secondary sch with the nickname.....
Bendy-Dick
Hence, just Ben

pgwithnumber3 · 30/08/2008 21:24

and cheesychips has just obliterated the name Benedict as a contender in one fell swoop!
