love it. DH didn't

theinsider · 18/08/2008 11:44

I really like it.

belgo · 18/08/2008 11:44

I like it, but it's a bit hard to pull off.

collision · 18/08/2008 11:44

ooh Kitty - you do like the 'posher' sounding names dont you?

rupert and Jemima!

I do like Jemima as it happens.

What about Beatrice or Nell? or Imogen?

I like it.

Lionstar · 18/08/2008 12:29

I like it, it's my sisters name. Her nicknames as a girl were Mima and Minkins. Now she is known as Jem or Jemma

nailpolish · 18/08/2008 12:31

it STILL makes me think of Playschool
even after 30 or so years

babyjamas · 18/08/2008 12:57

we have a Jemima - we're certainly not posh, never had any negative comments (well not to my face). gets shortened to Mima, Mimi, Jimjams etc etc but think will always be Jemima, unlike her sister who is Harriet but seems forever known as Hattie.

PuppyMonkey · 18/08/2008 12:59

Jemima always makes me think of the doll from Play school.

It IS posh, no getting away from it.

belgo · 18/08/2008 13:23

I think you would have to like the name Jem, as more then likely she'd be called this even if you don't want her to be called Jem.

puddle duck

charleymouse · 18/08/2008 13:39

Love it.

LittleMissNorty · 18/08/2008 13:42

You're obviously too young to remember Playschool

Iklboo · 18/08/2008 13:42

On holiday once we met a couple with 3 DCs - Bertie, Gertie & Jemima (B&G were twins)
Imogen was our name if DS has been a DD

Jemima does remind me of Playschool but it could be worse, you could want to call her Hamble (the fugly doll)

MrsMattie · 18/08/2008 13:43

Lovely for a teddybear / doll / dog

Tortington · 18/08/2008 13:43

its the doll in playschool

kittywise · 18/08/2008 13:44

No

LittleMissNorty · 18/08/2008 13:45

OMG - Bertie and Gertie ....poor children....

ruddynorah · 18/08/2008 13:47

Tortington · 18/08/2008 13:49

Tortington · 18/08/2008 13:51

aunt jemima

PootyApplewater · 18/08/2008 13:53

Jemima the Mimer.

Would be fine if you have a DD who is adept at fighting her way out of invisible paper bags, or who is good at smoothing the walls of an invisible box.

Bit of a risk though.

hana · 18/08/2008 13:54

love it, gorgeous name
