vote on my boy names please!

Here's the list so far:

Julian
Jensen
Vincent
Lucas
Evan
Desmond
Isaac

Juian is DH's favourite. I really like Jensen. Neither one of us is mad about each other's choice so I've come up with the others to try to find something we both like. I'm drawn to Desmond but DH doesn't seem keen. What sort of associations does Desmond have? I also quite like Isaac as it sounds good with our surname and I like the meaning (laughter). I'm kind of just 'eh' on Lucas and Evan, they seem maybe a bit too popular for my liking.

Oh, and the middle name will be James.

What do you think?

I like Lucas and Isaac. i'm not keen on the others TBH.

I really don't like Jensen. Really really don't like it. In fact I actually think it is worse than Bear (another suggestion earlier this week).

Not too keen on any of the others except Isaac.

Although Isaac to be avoided with the surname Hunt.

Vincent - I sort of like it but it doesn't really feel like a "little boy" name - and it may be shortened to Vince or Vinnie, which are dreadful imho

Evan - don't like
Desmond - awful, sorry - truly awful
Isaac - like it

Lucas is really lovely - way better than all of the others.

Julian - not keen

Jensen - I wouldn't personally

Vincent - I love, but Vinnies tend to be little nutters.

Lucas - adorable, I would definately use this if I get to boy number 4, which will never happen.

Evan - no

Desmond - can't make my mind up on this one.

Isaac - fabulous, not many round here.

Julian, definitely, although not convinced by Julian James together.

Absolutely not Jensen.

Ds' initials will be DES and I'm quite amused by the thought of calling him Des, but would never consider Desmond as his actual name.

Lucas Evan and Issac are nice. Not the last if your surname is hunt though

I like Julian, Isaac and Vincent. They all are distinctive & charming with some cool nicknames.

Jenson sounds too trendy surname & Lucas is very now so will probably date. Desmond is another surnamey one, there was a show called The Desmonds. I have a real aversion to Evan probably because I am old enough to remember the seminal documentary, "The Problem with Evan"

So most of the backlash to Desmond is because of an old tv show? I guess that's why it doesn't have any odd associations to me, I didn't grow up here so don't know the programme. I only know it from the Beatles' song "Ob La Di" and Desmond from Lost.

Oh, and I assure those of you in doubt that Jensen is a real name, I didn't just make it up.

I have to say, the thought of a little Vinnie running round gives me pause. It makes me think of a mob movie and some little greasy shit named Vinnie smoking cigarettes and hotwiring cars. Might be crossing that one off the list...

Lucas is a lovely name

I like Julian. We have a close friend called Julyan and it really suits a clever, smart, sporty, intelligent and unconventional man!

Like Lucas as well, and Isaac.

Desmond is old man in flat cap to me (cos I had an old uncle Des!)

Julian, Vincent, Lucas and Isaac are all fine choices The rest are not really my bag, especially not Desmond which will never be ok IMO.

Would have to say Lucas at is my DS's name and he is a sweetie. It has become more poular since we named him unfortunately. I like Isaac too but it isn't my favourite biblical name.

Desmond is my dad's middle name, and was also my brother's first name. It will probably be ds2's middle name, but I am toying with the idea of it as a first name - dh loves it. Not sure if it would be too upsetting for my parents though.

There's a GORGEOUS highland dancer from Canada called Desmond - he's certainly not uncool.
