I like the name Summer. A friend always wanted a girl called Summer, but, as her married name is Ireland...it kinda wouldn't have worked for her.

not sure which middlename would work with it, though....

I like summer too.

One of the parents at school is thinking of calling her baby Summer (surname Meadows) personly think it sounds like an air freshner or fabric softner.

lizinthesticks · 08/08/2008 19:25

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Ineedsomesleep · 08/08/2008 19:26

Summer Meadows, thats a stunner

She will certainly be remembered.

It's nice and I know there's the Eastenders factor, but if Dawn had chosen, say Verity or Cecily, would it automatically have ruined that name? Summer is fairly unusual still, but not in a 'look at me' way. It's not unusual enough . It's a simple enough word, kind of pretty, not too girly, if it's spelt correctly then I don't see how it could EVER be ruined, or go rancid as one poster put it.

PS NOT with Rose as a middle name though. That's just too cheesey. Summer Roses don't last long. Nothing like Summer Joy or Summer Daisy or Summer Grace.

Summer Elizabeth or Summer Florence.

To be fair it does have an inbuilt rancid factor, which has only been enhanced by the enders tie-in.

The rancidity quotient is evinced by the following aspects:

My daughter's called Summer, she's bright like the summer and kind of warm too oh and she makes me happy like what the summer does as well and also summer is all summery and lovely ain't it so it's all good innit.

You are all complete knackers that you even know about the Eastenders connection at all. If you'd any class you be oblivious and think Summer was a nice name

3andnomore · 09/08/2008 18:23

lol at cuckoo.....as a non Eastenders fan...I didn't make the connection....

mrz...erm, well, I think Meadows is not the most fortunate surname when thinking of using the name summer....

I forgot to say, that I do know a little girl called summer, a lovely little girl
