By 'old English' do you mean traditional names? Victorian names? Anglo-Saxon names?

MaryMungo · 04/08/2008 13:36

Annis is a lovely medieval name, if that's what you're after....

branflake81 · 04/08/2008 15:50

By "old English" are we talking Ethelred etc?

ConstanceWearing · 04/08/2008 15:59

Ooh, Annis is lovely. Dammit - shall I have to have another baby ????

My DS is Lynden (alt. Linden, Lyndon). That's Old English.

ConstanceWearing · 04/08/2008 16:01

My teenage DD's just said Annis would be called Anus at school.

MaryMungo · 04/08/2008 16:24

I guarantee Annis will get an easier time of it than Gunnora, Horenga, and Sexhiue

Here's a good resource

bamboostalks · 04/08/2008 16:25

ConstanceWearing · 04/08/2008 20:03

"God, Zillah!"

Maybe not!

chonky · 04/08/2008 20:03

having just researched Araby, I don't think it is an old english name - lol. I like it anyway .
