My husband and I can't agree please help us! Ultimately we like all the following names but are going round in circles.....I could be persuaded either way! in need of second opinions!

For boys

Jake
Max
Theo

I think I like Jake best, husband likes Max
Which name would you go for?

For girls

Olivia
Georgia

Jemima

I probably like Olivia best, husband likes Georgia, tho i keep being distracted by jemima, tho maybe short-term distraction (don't know)

Any thoughts on the above, much appreciated!

Theo and Jessica (nicer than Jemima IMHO )

chandellina · 23/07/2008 19:04

i like all three boy names. My DH is a Jake (not a Jacob) so I am biased probably. I usually go for the formal name but i don't see why Jake can't stand on its own.

For girl's names, Olivia is nicest i think.

where i come from, Jemima is a brand of pancake syrup. (Aunt Jemima).

mavornia · 23/07/2008 19:28

All nice names

I would go for Jake and Jemima (don't really like Mimi though and people would probably shorten it)

Also love Imogen which seems to go with your other names

norkmaiden · 23/07/2008 19:31

Theo

Jemima

cthea · 23/07/2008 19:33

Theo and Georgia

flamingtoaster · 23/07/2008 19:35

Theo and Olivia.

surprise · 23/07/2008 19:39

Jake
Jemima (too many georgias and olivias already)

Doobydoo · 23/07/2008 19:41

Theo and Olivia

TwoFir · 23/07/2008 19:48

I like Max and Jemima
Other names could make good middle names?

BigBumpAgain · 23/07/2008 19:56

I refer Olivia for a girl

Not sure for the boy: I actually prefer Jacob to Jake.

WinkyWinkola · 23/07/2008 20:00

Olivia - too many around now but a beautiful name.

Jemima is the best girl's name.

Jacob rather than Jake.
Theo is a great name.
Max is lovely too but lots of Maxs about. Don't know if that's an issue.

olyoly · 23/07/2008 20:00

They are all lovely names.

I am an Olivia, and I've always liked my name but I would pick Georgia for a girl. Max for a boy.

MrsWeasley · 23/07/2008 20:01

Theo and Jemima both get my vote. The other names are quite popular around here ATM

Pinkveto · 23/07/2008 20:03

Georgia please, I'm not allowed it and its so lovely!

Be very careful with Max and your surname, easy to have inadvertent connatations.

DoubleBluff · 23/07/2008 20:07

Olivia is lovely but there are a lot around, same for Jake.

I like Theo and Jemima the the best!

Wilkiepedia · 23/07/2008 20:11

Max
Olivia/Jemima (can't decide)

Although I think all are really lovely names

I have three Olivia's in my class and there are lots more in mother & baby class. So I'd go with Jemima as this is quite unusual and very cute. I love Theo. Again, Jake is hugely popular in my school and Max is popular in my mother & baby class.

babyjamas · 23/07/2008 20:37

we have a Jemima - is a fab name and although a name that people have heard of, there don't seem to be any others round here.

Mummyof3and1angel · 23/07/2008 21:08

U COULD USE ALL THE NAMES CHOOSE ONE FOR HIS 1ST NAME THEN USE THE OTHER 2 AS MIDDLE NAMES

Theo jake max

max jake theo

Jake theo max

...

JAKE THEO MAX SOUNDS THE BEST THATS MY OPINON ANYWAY

Quattrocento · 23/07/2008 21:14

Jake = no. Nice name but the only adult Jake I ever met was a thoroughgoing bastard so the name is tarnished by association. Also reminiscent of the Tweenies.

Max = no. It doesn't really sound like a proper name unless it is the short form of Maximillian or Maxim or Mad Max or something, all of which sound a bit silly.

Theo = yes. Presumably Theodore or Teddy for short is lovely

Olivia is lovely, Georgia and Jemima both a bit yukky.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 24/07/2008 10:40

Theo and Georgia are my prefs, but like them all except Jemima (puddleduck)

sunnydelight · 24/07/2008 10:49

Theo and Jemima (DS1 would have been Jemima had he been a girl).

If you want more options what about Zach? Our "boys name" for DD would have been some variation on Isaac/Zachariah/Zachery

girlsallaround · 24/07/2008 10:49

they all sound quite standardly nice to me.
don't think you will have any extreme opinions on any of these.

don't personnally love Jemima it has a sort of carribean ring to it
