We have finally got a short list of 2, and need some opinions to help decide. We want something a bit unusual, so what do you think?

Ailsa
Zena

Thanks

I prefer Ailsa. Don't really like Zena (or Xena) at all.

MrsBadger · 18/07/2008 12:33

I prefer Ailsa too

Zena is just too wannabe-different/warrior-princessy for me

mavornia · 18/07/2008 12:54

Of the two I prefer Ailsa but I'm not dying about it (also makes me think of Alf Stewart's wife in Home and Away years ago...)

I prefer Isla or Alicia which have a similar feel - or Skye if you're going for an island theme

hw2004 · 18/07/2008 12:59

Hmmm, think i prefer Ailsa but again i'm not mad about it. Like previous poster i prefer Isla which sounds sort of similar.

BlueChampagne · 18/07/2008 13:02

Ailsa

Thanks ladies, interesting as we were edging more towards Zena. Even more undecided now, umph

I think Xena is nicer, but to have it sound less 'warrior-princess-like', I'd prefer Xenia. There are some other forms here: Xenia girl name

reethi96 · 21/07/2008 18:02

My mum is Zena.

Anna8888 · 21/07/2008 18:03

I don't like either, I'm afraid.

BroodyBroodyBroody · 21/07/2008 21:22

Ailsa is the better of the two names IMO

norkmaiden · 21/07/2008 21:26

not keen on either sorry Hoodie

Zara is similar to Zena, but nicer imo?

redinthehead · 21/07/2008 21:52

Ailsa def the better one. Zena makes me think zany.

Heated · 21/07/2008 21:55

Not keen on either, sorry.

Prefer Elsa/Alissa tbh than Ailsa.

AbbeyA · 21/07/2008 22:01

I don't like either but Ailsa is the better of the two.

pacificblue · 03/09/2010 12:21

Hi Hoodie, what did you go for? My little girl is Zena. It's an Arabic name that means beautiful. I'm not limited by the trashy TV connotations as I tend not to watch it! There are many inspiring Zenas to look up to!

horatia · 03/09/2010 12:48

I like both, but prefer Zena.
