But baby is half Italian with an Italian surname so what's the problem?

Only naff if not Italian with typical
British surname surely......

What about Aldo for a boy?

elmoandella · 10/07/2008 13:45

is the father italian?

it's tradition to name first girl or boy of all granchildren after their grandparents. 2nd boy/girls after their father/mother.

well, thats perhaps just in the central italy region.

Eva Beatrix

Arlo
Rafael

Not sure about the boy's middle names!

hunkermunker · 10/07/2008 14:02

Eva Beatrix

Alessandro Henry

I should read properly-I missed the fact that your DH was Italian! In that case I take back what I said about pretentious for the Italian boy's names. Still dislike Austin, Jasper and Hudson and the girl's names.

hetty37 · 10/07/2008 14:20

Absolutely love Arlo!

Fimbo · 10/07/2008 14:33

Rafael for a boy

Rafaella for a girl

Thanks for the input - interesting to see what people think.

Further to some of the comments do people think:

Pia would lead to lots of teasing?

Eva is very popular/common now?

Luca is overused?

Milo is a tweenie?

They are our top four right now - middle names either Beatrice/Juliet or Henry/Antonio (family name).

Pia would lead to lots of teasing? - Mmm not sure about that; depends what sort of school she'd end up in, I guess.

Eva is very popular/common now? - no - but it is a very pretty, timeless sort of name

Luca is overused? No - not in the circles I move in anyway; have met several Lukes and a couple Lucases (is that the plural?!!) but never a Luca.

Milo is a tweenie? Yes he is - but aso what!!! I liked Bella for a dd; we didn't use it but not because of Tweenie links!

elmoandella · 10/07/2008 20:59

pia will definately get teased.

antonio is a good name as can be shortened to toni
or changed to antonia(toni)/
antoinetta/
antonella(ella) for girl.

greenelizabeth · 10/07/2008 21:02

Eva Beatrix
Pia Juliet

Rafael
Luca

PeachyBAHons · 10/07/2008 21:06

PeachyBAHons · 10/07/2008 21:09

ids determined to tease will find something, if its not the name will be appearance but always something!

There is a bit of a disconnect between the first and middle names. The first names seem more European and the middle seem American (not an insult, as I am American).

Not keen on Sicily, but Cecily is great.
Isla and Eva are lovely. Beatrice is a nice middle name with these firsts.

Love Matteo, Alessandro and Luca, but they don't appear to go with the middle names at all.

nappyaddict · 04/08/2008 01:15

Not keen on Everly, Sicily or Arlo only cos I like names that are real names iyswim.

If you like Juliet, what about Julita? I love Pia and Perla and also Pius/Cassius/Roman/Juno/Nico/Inigo for a boy.
