dylan

Fimbo · 04/07/2008 13:38

Angus (but I am Scottish!)

Dislike the others.

My other favourite names are
Struan
Campbell
Johnston

pointydog · 04/07/2008 13:39

Dylan and Angus (depends where you live though)

MakemineaGandT · 04/07/2008 13:39

Well, only Dylan and Angus are "proper" names really aren't they? Think the others might look a bit silly in years to come.

I guess Angus would be my choice from that list.

Iklboo · 04/07/2008 13:39

Like dylan but know loads of little boys called it
I quite like brody too

MrsMattie · 04/07/2008 13:39

Dylan the only name I could say anything nice about!

pointydog · 04/07/2008 13:39

"I'll cut off your johnson!!"

bluenosesaint · 04/07/2008 13:39

I don't like any of those. Sorry.

wessexgirl · 04/07/2008 13:40

Dylan is nice.

Fimbo · 04/07/2008 13:44

Its JohnsTon

greenelizabeth · 04/07/2008 13:45

Angus but Fergus is even better. Love Fergus, Gus and Angus is nice too.

The others were all very odd tbh.

pointydog · 04/07/2008 13:46

I saw that, fimbo. But it still just makes me laugh and think of that line

mum2oandh · 04/07/2008 13:47

love brody and angus, if they work well with your surname, would like dylan too, but i know sooooooooooo many

Kimi · 04/07/2008 13:48

Dylan

lonestar · 04/07/2008 13:52

thanks for feedback. you have to have thick skin to put names out...very hard to come up with boy names that aren't boring. mannix is irish by the way. my problem with dylan is how common it is too.

Is Mannix Irish!? I have heard of Manus, pronounced MANNus, with emphasis on first syllable. A Gaelic version of Magnus. But Mannix? Irish?

What about Lennox? That has the same feel as Mannix, but sounds less invented. Len is better than 'man' as a basis for a boys name!

Brody is the sort of name that Americans choose 'because it is Irish'. Brody to an Irish person seems only like a sur name.

Pinkglow · 04/07/2008 15:22

Dylan and Angus for me too

lalabigbird · 04/07/2008 16:54

i like brody, not so keen on the rest..

i like:

Harris (instead of harrison)
Harley (instead of Harvey)
Oliver
Toby
william
liam

Out of your list - Angus. In fact, I do rather like it.

LynetteScavo · 04/07/2008 17:00

Angus

nickeldime · 16/07/2008 16:37

Angus sounds the best to me. Lovely background to the name - "..Irish.. god of love, youth and poetic inspiration" - Aonghus / Angus

Ledodgy · 16/07/2008 16:40

Angus definately. I love that name but dp and his family vetoed it.

OurHamsterisevil · 16/07/2008 17:22

If you live in Scotland, Angus is quite common these days. I like Mannix, Brody - but spelt Brodie and Forde - spelt Ford.

To those who said they are made up. I really don't think you've seen enough baby books

twosofar · 16/07/2008 23:19

Mannix doesn't sound Irish to me. They all sound a bit made-up American. Brody Forde Henderson for example sounds like a law firm. Angus is OK if you are Scottish, Dylan if you are Welsh, but Forde and Brody... please don't..
