Dh wants it. Not even Robert. I am considering Robert and ok with it. It doesn't suit our surname well as that also starts with a hard consonant. It is his Grandads name and he was christened Bob so that is why he wants it.

love Bob but i would want it Robert on the birth certificate

I named my son Robert after my uncle. But you can't call a baby Robert, can you? And Robbie is just so blokish. My son was Bobby from day 1 and I love the name. It's not fasionable, but it won't ever go out of fashion either. And Bobby would suit a lawyer or a policeman just as easily as a plumber. I think it's a brilliant name.

We have a Robert who has been Robert since he was a baby. We sometimes shorten it to Rob now (he's 12), as do his friends, but he's always been Robert.

We have a Connor but we call him Bob - not sure why.

Spose you have to forget about the baby bit. They are only a baby for 2 yrs after all. Could be an old man for what, 30 yrs!

Don't like diminutives as real names. I think there should always be a real name that is the nshortened

Slubberdegullion · 11/07/2008 22:10

yes yes yes yes yes

I love Bob

georgiemama · 11/07/2008 22:12

No, because it's my father's name. And he is an arsehole.

3andnomore · 11/07/2008 22:22

violetsmile · 12/07/2008 08:36
