Baby # 4 name dilemma

Hello! We are expecting baby number 4 and found out yesterday she's a girl.
In a bit of a dilemma on what to name baby girl...
My children are called George, Grace and Holly. Me and my husband love the name Alice for baby number 4.
However I've recently found out that my younger sister - (who isn't pregnant and probably isn't planning to be for the next few years as she still lives at home with my mum, she does have a boyfriend though who's she's been with for 10 years) also loves the name and is planning on calling her future daughter Alice. Obviously she may never have a daughter could end up with sons.
But am i being selfish if I call our baby girl Alice, my sister even said to me 'you've already got two girls leave the name Alice for me' but that's the only baby girl name that feels right for this baby?! I love how it sounds with Grace and Holly and I am in no way doing it to spite my sister. We also rarely see my sister as she lives 3 hours away from where I now live so would it be so bad if we both had baby girls called Alice?! My Alice would be years older anyway!!
any advice or other name suggestions that fit with my three welcome 🥰💖

Why not use Alicia/Alyssa instead? You can use Aly/Lyss as a nickname but still preserve your relationship with your sister x

I love Rose! It’s better than Alice, more of a classic.

It’s your 3rd favourite name or else you would have called your first girl it, it’s her favourite. Maybe use a different name

It’s your sister. I’d choose another name. There are lots with a similar vibe to Alice, and that go with the names of your DC:

I know someone who did this to her cousin and cousin very sadly didn't use the name. Then when madam had her children she had two boys, followed by a girl whom she used a different name for!!

She specifically told you to not use it as it's the only one she likes? And you're planning on using it. Wow

Exactly! I think when you're actually pregnant with a baby and really naming them your tastes can change! I always planned on calling my future child Lily when I was younger! Then when I got pregnant completely went off the name and didn't feel right!

I probably won't use the name Alice as like someone said it is only my third favourite baby girl name. So sure we'll pick something else, but still I'm a bit sad as I think it's a beautiful name and fits with my other 3! Xx

Nobody owns a name so it comes down to how much you care about your sister's feelings vs what you want to call your child.

I had a similar dilemma when I was pregnant and chose a different name. Yes, she might not get the opportunity to use it, but I really love my sister and it was important to her 🤷‍♀️ (she's the only person I would have considered in this way though).

I have no regrets and feel like I would have always had mixed feelings about my DC's name if I'd used my sister's favourite.

I and 2 cousins were called after our grandmother. Three of us sharing the same name has never been a problem.

I was about to post Rose. I think it goes nice with Holly and Grace.

Matilda, Mabel or Evangeline (Evie?).

No to Olivia and Lucy - nice enough names but likely others in the class.

I too would drop Alice for the sake of family harmony.
