Would the name James Brown be too associated with the singer?

DH and I are struggling to agree on a name for our baby boy due very soon. One name we both like is James (Jamie for every day use) but it would mean his full name is James Brown… do you think he’ll be haunted by association with the musician for the rest of his life? Is James Brown that famous in the UK? It’s definitely making me hesitate, but it’s the one name we seem to be able to agree on. 😅

I love the name James and I always wanted a DS with that name and even I wouldn’t pair it with Brown.

I love the name Jamie. I have a friend called James Brown, I don't think it's a problem that it's also the name of someone famous as it's a common name that hundreds of people share (very different to naming your child the same name as someone with an unusual name). But I think with such a common first name/surname combination I'd add a relatively unusual middle name with a relatively unusual first initial as there will be a lot more James A Browns than James O Browns. I worked with a man with a common name (e.g. John Smith) and he didn't have a middle name - he ended up adding a couple of middle initials himself so he could be identified more easily in work email address, report authorship etc.
