DD4 is looking likely to be Darcy-Leigh or Darcey-Leigh but there is confusion to whether it should have the "e" in, can anyone tell me

Neither

LynetteScavo · 27/06/2008 22:10

D'Arcy.

bluenosesaint · 27/06/2008 22:13

Darcy

Darcey is a varient form of Darcy

Wezzle · 27/06/2008 22:14

Oi Olive! thought ye'd changed your mind about Darcy?

sweetkitty · 27/06/2008 22:15

No I quite like Darcy is that the way Darcy Bussell spells her name?

Lovingthepink · 27/06/2008 22:15

here

TheProvincialLady · 27/06/2008 22:16

D Arsy.

TheProvincialLady · 27/06/2008 22:16

Sorry, being silly

janeite · 27/06/2008 22:17

No "e" - and if it was my choice, no "Leigh" either. I actually like the name Darcy on its own - the obvious Jane Austen link makes me like it even more.

southeastastra · 27/06/2008 22:17

darcy

4andnotout · 27/06/2008 22:19

Wez everyone keeps saying how well it goes with the others and that its pretty and i cant think of anything else
Got to have the Leigh bit sorry

My dog is called Darcey. She is a lovely Cavalier King Charles spaniel though.

We named her after Darcey Bussell. Sorry!

4andnotout · 27/06/2008 22:21

I named our dog Ruby after a dr told me i was infertile and i loved the name so much...now 2 more daughters later i regret my haste!

i think if you are having the -leigh then it looks better without the e, so darcy-leigh. but then you have the risk of it being pronounced darky (v unlikely)

don't ask us though, you have done perfectly well with your other children's names and nobody is ever nice on this topic except me and hatrick.

Wezzle · 27/06/2008 22:25

I think without the 'e' then.

I couldn't think of anything else to go with Leigh, but I did tell you I was useless at picking names.

Candlewax · 27/06/2008 22:25

Oh! I wasn't being nasty. I was just stating what the name meant to me.

I love the name Darcey. I think it would be lovely for a little girl.

4andnotout · 27/06/2008 22:27

Candlewax i didn't think you were being nasty

4andnotout, I am tired sorry. I think my reasoning goes out the window. It was not you that made a comment about being nasty and even the person that did, it was not aimed at me personally, it was a general tongue in cheek comment. So sorry to have worried you.

MKG · 27/06/2008 23:07

Darcy--That is my sister's name

We were going to call our LO Darcey, then when she was born it didn't suit her. Might save it for the second one if it's a girl. I prefer Darcey Leigh without the hyphen.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/06/2008 11:59

Darcy

Hulababy · 28/06/2008 22:52

Darcy

Sidge · 28/06/2008 22:56

My friend's DD is Darcie - just to throw another variation into the mix!!
