What names did you give to your girls and was thwre a particular reason or you just liked the sound of the name? What other considerations did you make? I need inspiration.

I named my DD after my grandmother.

My two girls are named after grandparents also. Both are beautiful, classical names and suit them entirely.

It was the only name we both agreed on, I now regret the choice as I like it but don’t love it.

The name never came up and we were wavering between 2 others. Once she was here, her name popped into my head and dh immediately agreed

DP loved it. I really liked it but worried it was a bit dated. I really love it but think it was maybe a bit dated. She likes it though. Second time I used a name I've always loved (mixed reviews on MN as some say boring/overdone).

I like names that don’t really date. So while I love Iris I swerved that because I do think the fussy old lady names of Mabel, Elsie, Florence, Iris and Ada will be very dated to the 2020s as much as Claire and Jennifer are to the 80s,

I liked Charlotte, Lucy, Harriet, Sophie and Anna. They all seem reasonably timeless to me, as in their namesakes could be 70, 40 or 2.

Named after a family member and a loved book character, just like my son. Trying to find the same sort of combo for #3 is proving trickier.

Unfortunately because shes named after a family member it never occurred to me there would be multiple pronunciations (I'd only ever heard it one way) and that the more common way people say it is not how we say it 🤦🏼‍♀️ so that's been a pita. But she's not shy in correcting people, and manages to do it in a very charming and polite way too!

I had a son, but if he was a girl his name would have been Nancy

First name because we liked it, wanted something that could be shortened and was outside of top 100. (That worked well, it’s top 10 now)

middle name 1 - a family name

middle name 2- the month she was due. She was early so that backfired too!
