What were your dream names for your kids when you were growing up?

I wanted twins called Mark and Isobel, influenced by Flambards.

I wanted two girls:

Sarah-Jane and
Marie-Louise

They were of the time.
I also thought their father might be called Colin . I never had a boyfriend called Colin!

Bethany and Jasmine.

Emily Victoria.

It never occurred to me I might have boys.

Araminta (Minty) for a girl
Noah Christopher for a boy

I ended up with none of these names

God forgive me, but Storm and Sean for the twins I was convinced I'd have. They sounded really romantic when I was about 12!

Oh I loved Flambards, it was so good

I wanted to have blonde twin girls called Karen and Lisa. Have no kids.

Chiara (before anyone had heard of it over here!)

Zach for a boy (so cool 😎) and Dawn for a girl.
Still like Zach but feel it’s a bit more popular now than when I was pre teen (maybe thanks to Zac Efron & Zach Braff) really no idea what possessed me to think I’d call a girl Dawn, it’s not a name I even considered when it came to actually having children.

Hahaha I was and very proudly still am 🤣 currently pregnant with my second - our first boy - and still trying to convince my DH about those names in particular.... It's not working haha!

i’ve only ever know girl Skyla’s and Skye’s except for the one in mama Mia.

Stephanie and Elliott. I didn't have or want children. They were names no one in my family were called and having 30 cousins who mostly had 2 or 3 children each there were quite a lot of names taken.

Jasper and Emily. I was probably mid-teens when I first thought this, so mid-80s. Soon after I was clear I didn’t want children but always still liked the names. Met DH and inexplicably wanted children with him, but didn’t succeed, so the names have stayed unused. Like a PP I also have a million cousins but neither of those names have been used by any of them, over the ensuing 30 years and two generations!

Twins Catherine and Caroline. Neither name used

Girls: Persephone, Ebony, Portia
Boys: Peter, Corey
Neither my boy or my girl are called any of those 🤣 think I was about 14 when those were what I would have chosen!

Daniel, Josh for boys
olivia, Holly, Chloe, Emily for girls

standard 90s names really!

I wanted four children and to name them after the members of ABBA 🤣

I thought I would have a daughter called Susan Carol Louise. Suffice to say none of my DC have those names.
