Thoughts on 2 middle names?

Thinking about possibly having 2 middle names for baby boy - but I also don’t want to make it a hassle for us or for him in the future with legal documents or paperwork in general.

Thoughts or Experiences?

Let me know!

my children all have two middle names and never been an issue

My brother has two middle names and it's never been an issue. Funnily enough we've had more trouble with my husband taking my surname on legal documents.

Our DC has two middle names, first and surname are quite long too (not English). Never been a problem. I also have two - one is a family surname, also never been a problem. I'd plan to use two middle names for any future DC too.

I knew a girl that had 8 including her first name and thought that was excessive!

It’s no hassle at all!

My son has two middle names as husband and I couldn’t agree on which family name to use so we used both. He’s a teenager now and we’ve never had any issues at all with legal documents, school trips abroad or anything else.

@Calliopespa , I just don't see the point of them. I can if the first name and surname are very ordinary.

Often middle names are given to honour a much loved family member. My husband and I couldn’t agree on a middle name as we each wanted one from our own side of the family so we gave him two middle names (we knew there would be no more babies).

If there’s no sentimental reason then I don’t see the point of a middle name at all.

My daughter has four middle names. I love it!

I have two middle names, so does my brother and all my kids do. It's never been an issue. I like having two. We tend to use middle names to honour family but having two names means for my next DC I will choose one that I love and one to honour family.

Me, my siblings and my dc all have 2 middle names. It’s fine.

My dd (adult) has two middle names. She doesn’t have any problems.
