I prefer Adriana.

I don’t much care for either. What’s wrong with Ariadne? Didn’t you already have a thread about this?

This.

I'd change the choice to Ariadne or Adrienne (Add-ri-enn). Both are far nicer than your suggestions.

Adriana is too similar to Adrian, which isn't a very nice sound and is an anagram of 'a drain'. Ariadna is like an ugly version of Ariadne.

Ariadna (from the Greek, meaning "most holy") may seem unfamiliar in an English-speaking country because the usual, traditional English form is Ariadne, although other forms like Ariana, Arianna, Aryanna also exist. Ariadna is the traditional form used in Polish, Russian, and Spanish so if you have a link to those languages/cultures it may make sense.

Adriana/Adrienne is a feminine form of Adrian/Hadrian, a Roman place name - tied to for example the Adriatic sea or the now-defunct national airline of Slovenia, Adria Airways - but also Hadrian's Wall in the UK. Overall, Ariadne is my pick - or Ariadna if it is preferable to you for whatever reason, but I don't dislike Adriana. I also like the obvious shortening of Ari better than - Adri? Addie? Ade?

I would NOT use the two names for two daughters; even though they have separate derivations the sound and spelling is confusingly similar.

@MirandaBlu , OP is in the UK and not Polish, Russian or Spanish.

I'm afraid I don't much like either.

If I had to choose, I'd avoid Adriana because it sounds too much like the Adriatic.
