Kristen?

Some friends are thinking of this, but are worried that it is "too American" and that she will always be called Kris (but could also be Krissy or Kristy which are lovely).

I love it so am trying to influence them! The only English one I can think of is Kristen Scott Thomas.

Any others or any thoughts on this name?

I agree, i think it is too American.

Weegiemum · 18/06/2008 12:39

I like it.

In Scotland it would more likely be Kirsteen, whichI like even more - often known as Kirsty.

nailpolish · 18/06/2008 12:40

there are loads of Kirstens round here (scotland)

Love it, is on my contingency list of girls names in case sonographer was wrong!

Can't decided between Kirsten or Kristen though, maybe Kirsten as I love Kirsty as a nn.

i think this is a Scandi name and not very popular with Americans these days anyway.
they should go for it.

I love Kristen! One of my really good friends is called Kristen. She is american but has been living over here for about 4 years and it doesn't get shortened. One of those - she is lovely and so is the name!
