Name for our third daughter - help 🥲

xOlive · 23/03/2026 09:17

I need help.
Our third daughter is due in September and we have absolutely no idea what to call her.

Any ideas please?
We like girly names, we don’t mind longer names that have a nice shortened version.
Sidney, Edie, Robin, Susie, kind of like these but none of them feel right.

Eleanor- my son's gf's name & she's utterly fabulous.

I only have boys, but always loved Maisie, Mirren & Rowan.

cerisepink889 · 23/03/2026 22:14

Mabel, India, Rosanna these are my top 3 but DH didnt like any of them so we didnt use.

Giraffehaver · 23/03/2026 22:16

I've got a baby Jemima so obviously love that. Her dad's started calling her Jammy 🙄

Welshpoppyyellow · 23/03/2026 22:17

I love a lot of the names on your list. My current favourite name is Erin so I thought I'd throw that in the pot!

DanceMumTaxi · 23/03/2026 22:23

Cecelia (cece)

Whatisfrenchtoast · 23/03/2026 22:30

Elsbeth? I think that's how it's spelt, someone mentioned it on the thread the other day.
I have always loved Evangeline as such a feminine pretty name.
Bethan suggested up thread is lovely given Beth/Bethany etc. is completely off trend at the moment but nice traditional names.

Zoe. I have 2 daughters, not going to name them but they have classic names that everyone knows but which aren't super common these days. My third (which will probably be a cat!) will be Zoe.

I really like Emmeline and Rosalie, we took Rosalie off our list as one of the girls has Rose as a middle name 🥲

That won't matter. Call her Rosalie if you like.
Or Rosalind
Rosamund?

There’s so many lovely suggestions on here, thank you 🥰 I’ll go through them with my partner this evening (he’s away with work at the moment).

There’s a few I absolutely love but can’t choose as a friend (or a friend of a friend) has the name already.

So far, my partner’s top picks are Olive, Ottillie and Heidi.
We already have a little girl with an Oh-sounding name, would that matter?

salcombebabe · 24/03/2026 06:25

Love Olive! No it wouldn't matter about there being another 'oh' starting name

Specialneedsnightmare · 24/03/2026 06:30

Heidi is a lot better than Olive

HawthornFairy · 24/03/2026 06:37

Oh really, in what way?
I had a sibling with the same initials, I’m the older one and it never bothered us. We are brother and sister though so I don’t know if it’s different for sisters?

It can cause confusion, because often identification is surname and first initial, but it's up to you. I personally don't like the same sibling initials because it's like they're a matching set, iyswim? Not quite Kardashian, but that route.
As I said, your choice and people are just sharing ideas. Some lovely suggestions on here, I hope you're inspired!
