Round here it's names like Lanayah and Romayah. Hideous.

Badslipperluck · 05/02/2026 22:05

Your girls list contains late teen names around here.

Separatedbutlivingtogether · 05/02/2026 22:06

I'm so sorry.

Same here.

Giraffehaver · 05/02/2026 22:14

Yep. Most Mollys I know are late teens/early 20s

HotdogMacaroniCheese · 05/02/2026 23:18

Lexi and Luca are already popular. Can’t stand Lexi though.

The Mollys I know are in their 20s.

Moreteaandchocolate · 06/02/2026 08:38

I think longer names will get popular again for the next generation- after the long trend for short names. E.g. Delilah is most popular among younger mothers. Others rising quickly are Eliana, Arabella, Talia.

Boys - some of the simpler classics such as Luke, Adam, Nathan, Jason

RaraRachael · 06/02/2026 08:54

Where I live it's any made up name beginning with K.

I think Sebastian and Augustus would be met with an eye roll.

Kumquatzest · 06/02/2026 10:00

In Northern Ireland I've noticed an uptick in Fiadh and Croía. Two-syllable, modern-style Irish names are definitely in vogue. Also anything that sounds like Eva/Evie/Aoife/Ava/Ivy etc.
I would be pleasantly surprised to meet an Augustus or Raphael.
Some of the names on your list would be considered 90s/2000s names here like Molly.

Firebird83 · 06/02/2026 13:29

Where I live, Jude, Rudy/Rudi, Otis, Felix, Kit, Beau and Hugo seem to be very popular for boys. Bea, Ottilie, Olive, Mabel, Margot and Maeve for girls.

I think these will become more popular over the next few years:

August
Raphael - agree with this on your list. Also Rafferty / Raffy
Caspar/Casper
Jasper
Rowan
Robin
Hector

Eliza
Sylvie
Cleo
Juniper / Junie / June
Clementine / Clemmie
Nora
Rosa

Those aren't future name trends, @Separatedbutlivingtogether .
Many are already mainstream and most of them look like names from the 20-40 age group.

It looks like a list of names you like. I don't like most of the names.

The trends around here seems to be for long vowelly names or traditional or religious names.
