I keep coming back to this one (it's been on and off my shotlist twice) and would love to have your thoughts on it!

And you could have a little boy called Duncan (or about a million older people asking if you are going to...)

southeastastra · 14/06/2008 20:54

reminds me of that awful wizadora show

nickytwotimes · 14/06/2008 20:55

I really like it.
Does bring Isadora Duncan to mind, but moat names remind oy uof someone well known?

WillburyNibbleQC · 14/06/2008 20:55

Not keen, tbh.

tribpot · 14/06/2008 20:56

I like it, because she can be a 'normal' Izzie and only tell occasional people she's really Isadora.

I work with someone called Mat and I assumed the one t was just the usual pretentious one t routine but actually he's called Mathieu, so fair play to him!

cosima · 14/06/2008 20:56

its nice but i only know of the one isadora duncan and i think it might be a bit doomed

LaDiDaDi · 14/06/2008 20:57

Ooh I love it!

WelliesAndPyjamas · 14/06/2008 21:03

pretty

dizzydixies · 14/06/2008 22:13

I love it too but can't have it because of our surname

love the nn Isa

UnderRated · 14/06/2008 22:23

I know a little Isadora - never shortened to anything. Her sister is Viviana

lotspot · 14/06/2008 22:51

makes me want to go 'Isadora-ble'

goes back to hide in corner

branflake81 · 15/06/2008 07:30

Isadora, we adore her....

Don't like it, tbh.

Sounds like you're trying too hard to be different.

Mummyandi · 15/06/2008 11:47

First thing that came to mind was same as branflake. Isadora we adore her. But the show isn't on any more so maybe you would be ok

findtheriver · 15/06/2008 11:50

It's a fab name! She can be Izzy(without having the sooo overdone Isobel or Isabella) or Dora.

thirtysomething · 15/06/2008 11:54

Isa is a standard abbreviation for isabelle/Isabella in France, Spain, italy and very very pretty IMHO - have nown loads of very chic French and Spanish girls by that name, so yes, a vote for Isadora with Isa for short

LavenderMist · 15/06/2008 14:31

Love it, would have liked it for a girl but
a)didn't work with surname
b)had a boy!

artichokes · 15/06/2008 14:33

Its sweet if you don't mind a thousand references to Isadora Duncan.
Love Dora as a nickname. Would like to call my next DD Dora but that bloody explorer girl is making it hard.

Cecy · 15/06/2008 15:36

Ah yes, I remember the Wizadora programme. This soared hundreds of places in popularity name stats last year, which makes me hope it isn't going to be trendy at some point.
I'd use nickname Dora.

nkf · 15/06/2008 15:40

It comes into the "trying a bit too hard" category to my mind. It's okay but not delightful enough to make up for the inevitable Isadora Duncan references.

Flum · 25/06/2008 22:03

\lurvvve Isadora. can't have it a boat we know got in ther first

notasheep · 25/06/2008 22:06

gigglewitch · 25/06/2008 22:07

I love it.

DonnyLass · 15/07/2008 23:13

its fabulous and classical

if you love it go for it or you;; always regrt it

tommiles001 · 16/07/2008 07:22

Classic but kind of dated, with the -a ending. Popular at the beginning of the last century: baby name Isadora

How about Isis?
