@Hels3000 , Thanks. I think a lot of people would say Athene as Ath-een. (Irene tends to be Eye-REEN).
Some people will say X- as 'ex'.

The online translator thingy says Xenia as kSEN-ya, Xanthe as kSAN-thee,and Olympia as Ol-imp-EE-ah. (I've used uppercase for the stressed syllable cf CROS-ta, Mar-EE-ah).

I was curious about a name's pronunciation, I'd try the online translator first and might get it wrong

Yes good point about Athene. I think pronunciation wise - Olympia and Delphi post few risks (I hope!)

I like them all, particularly Celeste and Athene. Xx

I love all of your names! Especially Xanthe and Artemis. My children are also half English and half Greek Cypriot (I’m English and my partner is Greek Cypriot) and sadly non of mine have Greek names, it wasn’t a conscious decision we just couldn’t agree! My first daughter is Fleur, son is Rafferty (I wanted him to be called Apollo but partner wouldn’t agree 😂) second son is called Beau, again wanted to call him Artemis but he vetoed it because it’s a girls name traditionally obviously!

Athena is a personal fave

Namexchangex · 21/01/2026 19:51

thank you! Ah Rafferty is one of my favourite names too! In fact they’re all beautiful names. Yes I feel some of these will be difficult to convince my partner on… I think he’s keen on all apart from Juno. He hasn’t even seen my boys list yet haha

I like Delphi & Celeste 💐 Congratulations 🎊

I love lots of Greek names, great list.
My favourites are Athene and Olympia- fabulous names. Artemis is pretty cool too.
Least favourites are Xenia and Juno.

KarriTreeSullivan · 23/01/2026 15:00

Ooo gorgeous and exciting names!

Xanthe, Athene, Juno and Xenia, are my favourites, in that order.

Olympia - I really like this but I saw it get a lot of abuse on here once, with mostly people saying 'are you naming a horse?', I follow an actress on social media called Olympia Valance and she seems very lovely.

Artemis - I thought this was a boys name? Sounds a bit masculine to me, but I am clueless in Cyrpiot culture, so forgive me!

Delphi - really like

Celeste - The only one I don't like, I knew a school bully in the nineties called Celeste. Possibly the most boring out of your wonderful choices too.

Plus in London, you can pretty much get away with anything!

Artemis is the name of a Greek goddess.

haha noted on Celeste.

I love Delphi the most I think!

A note of warning on Xanthe if you are Cypriot. It's not pronounced Zanthe, it's pronounced Xanthe with an EX sound. I have a Xanthe and am Greek and everyone calls her Zanthe however much I correct them. It's a shame as I wanted a Greek name and had not understood that it would be pronounced wrong.

HarvestMouseandGoldenCups · 13/02/2026 09:17

They’re all fine although all quite fancy so may viewed as posh.

HarvestMouseandGoldenCups · 13/02/2026 09:19

@KarriTreeSullivanArtemis is the virgin goddess of the moon and the hunt who ran down and had a man torn apart by her wolves/dogs for looking at her naked. You may be mistaking her for her male twin Apollo.

KarriTreeSullivan · 13/02/2026 10:14

@HarvestMouseandGoldenCups no, definitely not confusing it with Apollo, they're completely different names and I don't know the story!

I do not know many, if any, stories of Greek mythology and beliefs though obviously I have heard some of the names. Greek mythological tales are not my cup of tea I find them too violent, incomprehensible and vengeful for my liking. Fantastic names though!

Artemis just comes across as masculine to me, and I obviously assumed it was. Maybe it's the 'Art' bit which is usually a male name or part of.

ImwaitingforMadeleine · 13/02/2026 10:56

@KarriTreeSullivan are you thinking of Artemis Fowl, the children's books?

KarriTreeSullivan · 13/02/2026 11:07

Nope never heard of him/that/them. I'm not thinking of anything other than that Artemis sounds masculine to me, and I think it is because of the 'Art' bit. 🙂

FartNRoses · 13/02/2026 20:54

Love all the names on your list plus I love the name Ismene…

Giraffehaver · 14/02/2026 22:54

Lovely list. I think my favourite is Xenia because it's pretty, strong and rare but they're all fab names
