I think mine would be

ds-Otto

dd1-Mabel

and

dd2-Ida

they would have bloody suited them too, though we'd have been laughed out of the playground

Stevie and Lone.

Well, I will use Stevie (for a girl) but maybe not as a first name. Might use Lone as a middle name.

largeginandtonic - well that's just not fair! Margot is a fantastic name - everytime I mentioned it people genuinely thought I was joking .

Now, typically, we have a brand new DS who has a very 'ordinary' name and everyone seems to go rather quiet when I tell them the name we have chosen for him and then say 'ohhh that's nice' in a sort of 'oh how ordinary and boring' tone of voice - I should have called him Jethro (pregnancy hormone induced choice) and let them all titter away

Ahhh, Maggie - the great name that never was for dd. It was my Irish granny's name but dp swore he hated it all through the pregnancy, so we went for the second choice we both agreed on. Then about 4 months later he says 'Mmm, Maggie's a pretty nice name actually'. Grrrr. But she suits her name now and I'd probably only be wishing we'd called her that instead of Maggie iyswim.

dd1 as she is
dd2 would've been Dylan

and yes, am fully aware its more commonly used as a boys name
