I work in a kennels and havent come across a Mabel.

My granddaughter, aged 18 months was given the name Alma as her middle name, that was my late mums name and my daughter was very close to her so it’s was a lovely gesture. I did think it was rather old fashioned but my son then told me that two of his friends have names their daughter Alma as their first name.

Not used as a dog name around me, and I wouldn’t be bothered by that if it were. It’s not a dog name as such.
