Looking for a pretty vintage girls name. Love Clemmie, Winnie and Lila. Any other suggestions? And how would you spell Lila? (Said like lilac without the c!)

Lila is lovely, I’d spell it that way.

Clemmie and Winnie are cute for kids but not sure I’d want to be called them myself as an adult, so I’d use longer names on the bc in case your dd feels the same one day and wants more options.

I like Alexandra, Alice, Eleanor, Harriet and Lillian.
My grandmothers were Florence (Florrie) and Winifred (Winnie).
I always think its spelt Lilah or Lyla.

ainsleysanob · 12/11/2025 20:30

Mine would be Ada or Martha! But if I was to have a little girl (which I won’t because we’re ancient!) I would definitely be picking a vintage name!

Lila is quite popular, the one in my DC’’s class is a Lyla.

I like Mabel but otherwise not a fan.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 12/11/2025 23:44

I knew a Lyla. She'll be late 60s now, if that's your definition of vintage.
Thelma must be due a revival? Along with Edna and Edith.
